A p THE BEST E N T A,” PURGATIVE WATER. For Continuous Use by tbe Gouty, the Constipated and the Obese, and AS AN OCCASIONAL LAXATIVE. 2

THE "NEW ZEALAND MAIL” AT HOME. A TKLI3TJTE AND A COMPARISON. A GENTLEMAN who lias two sons in New Zealand —one in Christchurch and another in Wellington—was rnade the recipient of the "New Zealand Mail’s” Christmas number, and of the Christmas number of a Southern contemporary. He evidently got a bad copy of our contemporary; still, his remarks on our own issue and on that of the other weekly are worth quoting: Roseneath, New Quay, Cornwall, December 22nd 1902. "I have to thank you for the copy of the "New Zealand Mail,” which arrived in perfect condition. It is an excellent paper,, and very different to the rubbishy copy of the , which E sent me from Christchurch. I have read a good deal of the "Mail” with great interest. Your friend Mr Pringle has certainly done the subject justice, both in the writing and the many fine views of the wonderland of New Zealand —one might almost say the wonderland of the world. Bellevue Gardens must be lovely. llow I would enjoy a sight of them, with all their most interesting and rare floral beauties. The gardens in Penzance would be nowhere compared to them.” As being representative of the scenery of the North Island, and for clean literary matter, the Christmas "Mail” was all that has been said of it. We are not greatly concerned in what is said of our contemporary, but we feel gratified at this spontaneous expression of appreciation of our ovvii production.
