The spread of noxious, weeds ;on Crown and native lauds was discussed, and a resolution passed/ calling the attention of the Minister of Agriculture to -the matter. ' . -..
The president’s regarding/ the offer on account of farmers of seed oats and wheat for New South Wales and Victoria was endorsed. The Southland executive was con-/ gratiilated on its action in appointing Mr Paterson, M.R:C.V.S., as organiser and lecturer. / ■ ‘
A reply was received from the Premier to a : letter concerning income tax charged to dairy factories, stating that the matter would be further considered.
The president’s pamphlet, “ Why every farmer should join the Farmers’ Union,” was placed before members, and it is intended to issue 30,000 copies. A hearty vot e of Thanks was accorded the president for the great trouble Taken in producing the pa/mphlet. / , The conference of Wellington branches will probably be /held in Palmerston North about the 25th May. All branches in the province will send delegates, / -
