The death of Mr C. L. Long, stationmaster at Feilding, which occuued at the Wellington Hospital on Friday, was due to appendicitis. He had undergone an operation, which was apparently very successful, and a letter which he wrote to friends in Feilding indicated that ho was malting a rapid recovery* Mr Long, who had spent nearly twenty-four years in the Railway Department, became stationmaster at Feilding in October, 1899. He was for some time stationmaster at Newmarket, and afterwards at Te Awamutu. He leaves a widow and a family of four sons and a daughter.
