A DOCTORS RUSE
Dr G. Frank Lydston has his full share of curbstone patients, and his latest experience was with a well-known Chicago citizen, who sidled up to him on State street-, and remarked in the mos-t insinuating manner:
“Say, dec., I feel miserable to-day—-dull pains in my head, nauseating taste in my mouth, and a general feeling of lassitude. Wiiat had I better take?” Dr Lydston looked him over critically > counted his pulse, and remarked in his most impressive manner;
“IJm! Um! A very serious case, but I guess you have taken it- in time! Isow shut your eyes tight and stick out your tongue.”
No sooner had the patient complied than the doctor dodged around tho corner, and the hapless man. stood on the curb fully five minutes with close-shut eyes and sticking out his “unruly member” at the tittering -crowd of State street shoppers.
