The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable from their London House, dated 26tli instant:— “Wool—The sales progress firmly, opening at an average advance on last sale’s closing rates of about 5 per cent for crossbred slipe, about 7-i- per cent, scoured medium and coarse crossbreds, and about 12j- per-cent for medium crossbred and coarse greasy crossbred.’’ The Department of Agriculture lias received tho fallowing cablegram from tho Agent-General, dated London, instant: —-Average prices to-day, 08 spot, Canterbury mutton, 3Jd; Dunedin, Southland and W.AI.E. Co., 31d; other North Island, 3Jd- The mutton market is dull. River Plate mutton 1* in large supply. Tho lamb market Jg quiet.
