The ninth annual show of the Golden Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Association took place at the show grounds, Takaka, on Friday, when the weather, though dull, was fine, a cool south-east breeze tempering the heat. The fhow passed off very successfully. The steamers Lady Barkly and Wai.voa took a large number of excursionists from Nelson, and many visitors drove over the hills from the Waimea, Motueka and surrounding districts. The settlors in the valley, as well as from Collingwood, also turned up well, and there was altogether a large attendance. Among those present were the Hon. T. Y. Duncan, Minister of Lauds, Mr It. The following State associations form the alliance: —The New South Wales Postal and Electric Telegraph Society, the Victorian Post and Telegraph Association, the Victorian Women’s Post and Telegraph Association, the Queensland Electric Telegraph Association, the Electric Telegraph Association of South Australia, the Electric Telegraph Association of West Australia, the Tasmanian Electric Telegraph Association.
