Mr John Holmes, Executive Commissioner for the Royal visit, has received the following letter from Lord Wenlock :—“Dunedin, June 26th, 1901. Dear Sir, —I am desired by their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York to convey their most sincere thanks to those gentlemen who have as Royal Commissioners carried out the duties connected with their Royal Highnesses’ reception in New Zealand. Their Royal Highnesses have fully realised how arduous those duties must have been, and they wish me to intimate to you their thorough appreciation of the very efficient manner m which they have been carried out. Their Royal Highnesses have had opportunities of visiting different parts of the country, and on ©very occasion they have found the arrangements for their comfort and safety most. perfectly carried out, and they consider that the forethought and careful attention to derails shown by you have enabled them !to enjoy to the full their visit to your most charming country.—Believe me, dear sir, yours very trly, Wenlock.”
