A FATAL FALL

MR ADELBERT HAY KILLED. NEW YORK, June 24. Mr Adelbert Hay, late American Consul at Pretoria, was instantly killed by falling from the window of an hotel at Newhaven, It is suspected that the accident occurred through the° unfortunate 'gentleman falling to sleep while smoking near the window.

The Hon. Colonel John Hay, Secretary of State, father of the deceased, was prostrated with shock at the news of his son’s death.
