Now that another attempt is to be made next year to bring back the “America Cup” to England, it is worth while to remark upon the early start which American yachtsmen take. There are no less than 20 New York boys who have cultivated high professional skill both as builders and sailors of tiny yachts, ranging from 6in. to 6ft. in length. Several New York houses find profitable business in furnishing them with all the supplies essential to the building and rigging of these miniatures of the noted big boats. They hold their regattas on the lakes of the parks, and the builders of winning boats are sure of profitable customers. An 8-year-old boy at Donnington has not been absent from school throughout the* year. As the distance to and from his home w as six miles, he walked over 1000 miles in the 12 mo'nths. •? ■ -
