The Union Company's Ringarooma. a long-retired member of the company's fleet and a fine vessel of her class and .day. has been sold to a German-firm to trade between Apia and Honolulu. At presents she is being thoroughly overhauled at Port Chalmers, preparatory to taking up h*?r ■work in the tropics. The Ringarooma will be commissioned in command of. Captain Spence, late of the Mapourika, witE -Captain Walker, late of the Kini, as chief officer. Mr Thomas, formerly of the Rotorua, has beeln appointed purser; Mr Rutledge, late of the Corinna, is. to be in charge of the providoring department, and Mr Stevenson, of the .Union Company, is to have charge of the Ring&rooma's engines.
