THE ROYAL VISIT

LONDON, March 5. At Lord Hopetoun’s request, the King's semi-State landau, with the usual postilions and outriders, has been snipped by the Orotava. for use of the Duke and Duchess of York in Australia. The Earl of Kimberley, leader of the Liberal party in the House of Lords, is ill, and his condition is regarded as critical. It is understood that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, after their visit to Australia and South Africa, will proceed to Halifax, Nova Scotia, cross from there to Vancouver, and return across Canada. Much disappointment is evinced at Penang, in the Straits Settlements, owing to the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall not calling there. THE TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. PROPOSED ARRANGEMENTS. The following are some particulars of the draft arrangements made by the Government for the visit of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall to New Zealand: AUCKLAND. Tuesday, 11th June.—Arrive at Auckland in thei morning; reception and presentation of address of welcome. Reception in the evening at Government House. . - Wednesday, 12th June. —Review of volunteers in the morning. Citizens’ reception in the evening. Thursday, 13th June.—Leave for Rotorua at aboqt 2 p-m. ROTORUA. Friday, 14th June.—Visit to Rotorua ; reception by natives. _ A visit will probably he jnade to Wai-o-tapu. Saturday, loth June. —Visit to Wakarewarewa, Titiki and the Lake. Leave in the evening for Auckland, en route to Wellington. WELLINGTON. Monday, 17th June. —Arrive at Wellington; land about 3 p.m.; reception and presentation of address. . Tuesday, 18th June. —Review of volunteers. Laying foundation stone of Town Hall. Reception at Government House in the evening * - Wednesday, 19th June.—-Visits dur- - fug the day to places of interest. Reception in the evening. . Thursday, 20th June.— A short journey by rail into the country may be Christchurch. CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, 22nct June.—Arrival at ; Christchurch; reception and presentation of address? Citizens’ reception m the evening? / . . Monday, 24th June.— Review oi volunteers. DUNEDIN. Tuesday, 25th June.—Arrival in Dimedin; reception and presentation of address. , Wednesday, 26tK June. —-Citizens re- ; ception in the evening. Thursday, 27th June. —Departure for J Australia in the evening. Arrangements will he made for the school children in each centre to take part in the reception of their Royal Higbnesses oh their arrival.

Only the principal addresses of welcome m the four centres will he personally received, and immediately acknowledged. by tlieir Royal Highnesses. Other addresses are to be handed in, and will be replied to by letter.
