In Mr Thomas Miller, or jßusb rßoad, Mosgiel, Otago, we . have as fine a specimen of a sturdy Scotch; settler as it-,is possible to get; .When interviewed ‘by a, local reporter, who asked for a short account of his life, Mr (Miller/wit-li characteristic brevity, said:- " ‘‘l am sixty-five'years of age and aUartive of Edinburgh. Believing that there would be better opportunities in a new country like New Zealand than could be obtained at home, I, many years ago, left my native' land ‘ and came out to settle in • Mosgiel. kAll went well until two years ago,’when tne change of climate and the different mode of living(began to affect me. iMy appetite deserved me, and after eating I was troubled. . with severe pains: in the stomach, and retching. : As time - -went on, I grew distressingly thin and weak, and my life *was-made wretched. - I consulted" a doctor, but did not recover, despite his skill. At last ! was induced to take Dr. Williams’ pink pills for pale people. After using, the second’box I felt relieved, and I found I could keep my food down better.
