RESULT OF SALTING CASE. TWO MEN SENT TO GAOL. GREYMOUTH, February 20. The Foley’s Creek salting case ffas occupied the* District Court since Friday. The case closed this afternoon. Judge Ward summed up strongly against the accused. The jury, after a short deliberation, returned a verdict of guilty against the accused George Lawson, William Lawson and Edward Pririg, with a strong recommedation to mercy oh behalf of the latter. An application for probation by counsel was refused djy the Judge, who sentenced the Lawsons e-vdh to two years’ imprisonment with bard labour."
