In connection with the great tramway extension in the western suburbs of London, one million blocks of redgum wood < have been ordered for the paving of the -<5 roads. Seven hundred miles of railway lines have been laid in the Soudan duripg the last three years. . -'\ The inauguration of. the' Australian Commonwealth will be- celebrated in London by a banquet about the middle of January.
