THE UNREST OF FRANCE.

PARIS, Monday. Royalists, Patriots, and anti-Semites Avearing the Bouhuigist carnation organised demonstrations at the races at Auteuil (formerly a village, iioav a place Avithin the city fortifications). M. Joseph Lasies, an anti-Semite deputy for Gers, a department in the southAvest of France; and M. Firmin, a Faure-elected deputy for Algeria, a French possession in North Africa, Avere the ringleaders in the demonstrations. The arrival of the French President, M. Loubet, Avas a signal for much, hooting and cries of “Panama!” “DoAvn Avith Loubet !” and “Vive l’Armee!” Many arrests have been effected, including a man who Avas rushing a carriage containing Nationalists. During the races M. Deroulede, the reactionaire, and the army were cheered, amidst continuous Avhistling and hooting. A free fight occurred, and thirty arrests were made. Several policemen Avero severely injured Avhile defending the Presidential stand. Generals Roget and §rugere Avere seized and disarmed. Count Christini, a member of the French Steeplechase Society, Avas arrested for striking at President Loubet with a. Avalking stick. The assailant had actually struck the President’s hat. M. Loubet, hoAA-eA-er, calmly conversed with M. Dupuy, the Premier. A A-ast majority of the croAvd at a distance cheered M. Loubet during the disturbance. Further fights ensued as the result of this cheering, and other arrests were made. The Republican Guard surrounded the President’s stand, and cleared the ground at the rear. Subsequently M. Dupuy and Generals Zurlinden and Baillond accompanied M. Loubet to the raihvay station amid yells and cheers. The Cabinet, subsequently held a tAvo hours’ sitting, and resolved to take energetic measures to suppress the rioting. Over 150 arrests Avere effected, including many Royalists. The Government being forewarned, has sent Major Marchand quietly aAvay. PARIS, Tuesday. In connection Avith the rioting that took* place on the racecourse at Auteuil, near Paris, yesterday, in Avhicli the President, M. Loubet, AA-as attacked, one colonel and tAvo lieutenants of the army have been arrested. These officers Avill he tried by courtmartial. In the Chamber of Deputies an incerpellation Avas mo\ r ed against tiie Government. M.
