VICTORIAN TRADE. Melbourne, January 23. The importe of the colony last year were valued at £16,768,000, an increase of £1,314,000, as compared with the previous year, and the exports were worth £15,817,000, a decrease of £867,000. FROZEN MEAT. The following are the official quotations of the Frozen Meat Trade Association. The basis of quotations is a sale of a line of not less than 100 carcases of mutton and lamb. All the quotations are for fair average quality: MUTTON. New Zealand crossbred wethers and maiden ewes—Canterbury, l-16d higher, at 3Jd per lb; Dunedin and Southland’ id higher, at 3Jd per lb; North Island, unchanged at 3Jd per lb. River Plate crossbred or merino wethers —Heavy, unchanged, at 3d; light, unchanged, at 3d. WHEAT. A parcel of 11,500 quarters of South Australian wheat (February shipments) has been sold at 28s per quarter, c.i.f., equal to 38 6d per bushel. TIN. The tin market continues to exhibit great strength. WOOL At the wool sale Continental buyers are operating actively. The Elderslie clip sold at Is fd per lb. STANDARD BANK LIQUIDATION. Melbourne, January 23. The liquidator of the Standard Bank of Australia reports that in August last, when the liquidation order was made against the company formed to takeover the old company, the position of the company, exclusive of capital, was—Liabilities’, £782,000; assets, £104,000. The deficiency is largely represented by bad debts. WOOL SALES. Lo)ndon, January 23. The total quantity of wool catalogued to date amounts to 32,241 bales, of which 30,860 have been sold.
