A parcel of 11,500 quarters of South Australian wheat (February shipments) has been sold at 28s per quarter, c.i.f., equal to 38 6d per bushel. TIN. The tin market continues to exhibit great strength. WOOL At the wool sale Continental buyers are operating actively. The Elderslie clip sold at Is fd per lb. STANDARD BANK LIQUIDATION. Melbourne, January 23. The liquidator of the Standard Bank of Australia reports that in August last, when the liquidation order was made against the company formed to takeover the old company, the position of the company, exclusive of capital, was—Liabilities’, £782,000; assets, £104,000. The deficiency is largely represented by bad debts. WOOL SALES. Lo)ndon, January 23. The total quantity of wool catalogued to date amounts to 32,241 bales, of which 30,860 have been sold.
