Sir,—l havß much plpasure in sending you the record obtained from your 40-egg Simplex Incubator, that result being practically 100 per cent, in its return as regards its working utility. But to be explicit tho following is the hatch obtained from 4) % eggs : 5 unfertile 1 stopped at about tenth day. (fault—l2 hcna to one cock) 3 dWI in shell. (Inbred; wouldn't hatch under a hen) 8 j haiuiKil without any help at all 44 Several hatched in 19J days, the majority on the 20lh day, and all were hatched before 21 h d»ys were complet- d. The eggs ranged from a fortnight to a day old. The temperature throughout averaged 103rlep, and the oil consumed 7i pints. From the eighth day the eggs wore turned twice daily (previously only in the morning), and at the same time the piece of canvas was put over them and kept there till the chicks began to hatch, when it was removed. Trie eg%* were ahoaiied each morning for 10 minute*-', as recommended iu your direction.-*. In reference to the hatching, I considered that with care to the temperature a fair result would be obtained, but was surprised at the perfect hatch and at the splendid way in which the chicks have pulled along since.—Yours truly, (Signed) Walter Loring.
