The Eketahuna Road Board, now defunct, has suggested that the new county should be divided into seven ridings, six of which will return one member each and the seventh two members. The proposed ridings are:—(l) Hutt, Kahiriki and Waiwera Special Settlements; (2) Wellington Special Settlement No. 1, including Newman; (3) Stirling Special Settlement and Mangatainoka Valley; (4) Parky die and Wellington Special Settlement ; (5) all of present Ward No. 4; (6) town of Eketahuna; (7) Ward No. 2. There is, however* much difference of opinion about the proposed divisions.
