Preparations for the bazaar and village fair in aid of St. Thomas’ parochial district are going on apace. The fete is to be held in the Seating Rink, and will be opened by the Governor on Tuesday, the 2nd August. Gradually the interior of the rink is taking on a semblance to an old English village, with its shops arranged as stalls and a festival maypole set up in the centre of the green, which will also accommodate several side shows. Around the maypole, dances will take place at intervale during the throe dayg of the fair, and a contrast to tae rustic measure will be provided by the courtly cotillon and the ultra-modern Washington.
