A correspondent writes : lam pleased to learn from a paragraph in your paper that Inspector Doyle is taking steps to reduce the number of dogs, whose sole object in life appears to be annoying the riders of horses. Half the pleasure of riding is lost owing to the frequent and unexpected rush of a dog from som« gateway, &c, which starfcloa your horse, and barks at its heels for some distance, in some oases resulting in an accident to the rider. I sincerely trust that every effort will be made by tho inspector and the police t 3 rid Wellington of all caniue 'pet*' that prove themselves to be a nuisance to the public I hope the publication of this letter will bring borne the faofc to those concerned that, unless they control their dogs thti hnimiUs wiii be doi&ti wittt pxngttu fr/efc tff
