RAILWAY RETURNS.

Tlio return of railway receipts and expenditure for the four weeks ending 31st March shows the receipts to have been £123,699 5s 2d, and the expenditure £S 1,337 14s Id. Middle Island— Hurunui-Bluff, 59 27, Go 22 ; GreymouthBrunner, 59 27, 49 83 ; Grcyraouth-Hokitika, 52 35, 51'71 ; Westport, 45 22, 48’59 ; Nelson, 95-61, 8S 9S ; Picton, 109‘23, 120‘07. r l’ho receipts on the Wellington section for the four weeks ending :11st March were £9549 7s Id, as against £8553 Ids 8d in the corresponding period last year, and the number of passengers carried was 39,197, as against 38,591.
