MARLBOROUGH JOCKEY CLUB. Blenheim, November 2. There was fine weather, and a fair attendance. The sum of <£lo2o was put through the totalisator. The following are the results: — _ , _ _, „ _ Hurdles. —Venture, 1; Lady D Or, 2 ; Camellia, 3. Won by over half a mile. Time, smin 22sec. Dividend, £1 11s. Catesby Stakes. —His Lordship, 1; Petite, 2; Red Ribbon, 3. Totai was scratched. Won with something to spare. Time, 2min 24£sec. Dividend, .£1 10s. Kiverland Handicap.—Tupu, 1; Princess, 2 ; Seabreeze, 3. All started. Won easily by a couple of lengths. Time, 2min 16fsec. Dividend, .£4 11s. Maiden Plate. —Grey Ribbon, 1; Hinewhetu, 2; Coin, 3. Also started—Right Metal, Pompadour, Horton, Miss Lily. Coin and Miss Lily both ran off when nearing the rails, or they would probably have supplied the winner. Won by a length. Time, lmin B|sec. Dividend, .£ls 18s. Welter.—Why Not, 1; Camellia, 2 ; Grey Ribbon, 3. A good race, Grey Ribbon just beeting Why Not on the post, but was disqualified owing to failing to carry the penalty for winning the Maiden. Time, lmin 51sec. Dividend„<£2 7s 6d. Flying. Hillstone, 1 ; Alpha, 2; Seabreeze, 3. Also started —Princess, Tupu, Foreroyal. Tupu was a warm favourite. Hillctone led all the way. There was a great race for second place. Dividend, £7 Gs. Trot. —Rosa, 1; Pilot, 2 ; Bob, 3. The limit horse won easily, but was disqualified, as he was proved to be Rugby, alias Silverwood. Dividend, .£5 4s. Blenheim:, Novembers. The Marlborough Racing Club had fine weather for the second day’s racing. The course was in splendid condition, and the attendance good. The following are the results : Hurdles, of 25 sovs ; one mile and a half. —Venture, 1 ; Lady D’Or, 2. Lady D’Or fell at the second hurdle, throwing the jockey, and Venture cantered home. Dividend, <£l Scurry Handicap, of 20 sovs ; four furlongs.—Sing Song, list 71b, 1 ; Camela, lOst other starters. Won rather easily by threequarters of a length. Lime, 54sec. Dividend, £5 7s. President’s Handicap, of 40 sovs ; one mile.— .Hillstone, Bst 81b, 1 ; Seabreeze,, Oat, 2 • The Princess, 7st 101 b, 3. King s Own, Tupu Why Not and Awatere also started. Won easily by two or three lengths. Time, lmin 49fsec. Dividend, £6l9a. Shorts Handicap, of 20 sovs ; five furlongs.—Sing Song (71b penalty), 1 ; Her Ladyship 2 • Grey Eibbon, 3. Alpata also started. The sum of £3040 went through the machine in the two days.

DAY STAR UNLIKELY TO START FOR THE NEW ZEALAND CUP.

Auckland, November 2. According to a telegram sent here by Mr Morrin, Day Star is an unlikely starter for the New Zealand Cup. The matter will be decided early this week.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAINING NOTES.

Christchuch, October 27

No work of importance was done this morning. Euroclydon, The Shrew r , Lord Rosslyn and Aldershot together galloped a mile and a quarter, the first mile solid, the last quarter easing up. Lord Rosslyn ran unkindly. After goinsr six furlongs Euroclydon and The Shrew led the other pair throughout. Day Star -was led out of his box, but did not reach the course, and being very 3ore was returned there, and did not work. Christchurch, October 30.

For the most part work at Riccarton this morning was confined to steady pacing. Fabulist, Lady Zetland and Lotion put in strong work, going well. Euroclydon and The Shrew were not out, and Day Star was on the walking list.
