WANTING TO KNOW, YOU KNOW.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Can you inform me if the geography of the country has been altered lately, and America included in the New Zealand colonies ? The reason I ask is that some time ago I enquired if the Collier Two-Speed Cycle Company of New Zealand applied for space in the coming Wellington Exhibition for showing bicycles would it be granted ? I was told no, as the Exhibition was intended for colonially - manufactured exhibits only, and, as our gear and machines were made in England, we were debarred from showing. What do I find now ? Why, that two or three firms who import American machines ara not only allowed to exhibit, but also to sell. Surely there must be a screw loose somewhere, and it undoubtedly looks as if it were fish for one and flesh for the other. Perhaps che secretary or some of the committee can explain this strange action. —I am, &c., A Representative of the Company. > Wellington, October 29th, 1896.
