I believe there is every possibility of one of our local fanciers going in extensively for Skye terriers, and is about to send forth orders to Melbourne for a really good pair. There is plenty of room for this, and it is to be hoped he will do so. I wish him success.
Those desirous of sending to the Auckland show should make their entries very soon, as they close on the 17tli inst. Tbs show froth all accounts promises to be a! thorough success.

have to keep them six months and then sell them at the first offer.
Don’t wash puppies when they are very ydittig, Unless they happen to get into some filth that cannot be removed when dry by the brush. Don’t wash puppies until at least six months old. Grooming and “elbow grease” every day will improve the coat and do more good than washing. Don’t neglect the old dogs, either. Daily grooming is a daily safeguard against disease, and especially so with long-coated dogs that may develop some skin disease days before you notice it unless you groom every day j then such a thing can scarcely happen. Don’t let puppies run altogether on grass; they should have part of the kennel yard in hard earth. This will wear down the toe nails and keep the toes from spreading.—American Stock-Keeper.
