JUDICIAL SCANDALS.

Mklhoorne, May 27. At the Criminal Court, Rappiport and Maxtor, recently removed from tho roll of Justices in consequence of the report of the Lormer Enquiry Hoard, were charged with conspiracy to defeat the ends of justice in connection with the case of Mrs Monitor, hotelkeeper, charged with Sunday trading, ventilated before tho Lormer Enquiry Board.

After formal evidenco had boon tendered, Boulter and his wife wero called. The Chief Justice, Sir John Madden, said they could give evidence if they liked, but he warned them they might be included in a charge of conspiracy, and the evidence used against them. Moth thereupon refused to give evidence, and the Crown having no further witnesses the Judge directed the jury to acquit tho accused, as there was no evidence on which to convict.

The jury accordingly returned a verdict of acquittal, and tho defendants wero discharged.
