CYCLING SPORTS.
The splendid lot of entries which have been received by the Wellington Cycling Club for their sports on the Basin Reserve on the 22nd instant augur well for the success of the first annual me? ting. The entries total 163 —lO4 for the bicycle events and 59 for the flat races —and include competitors from Dunedin and Gisborne. Special attention is being paid to the track, and every effort put forth to supply a good aftei'noon’s sport. The entries are as follow :
One-mile Novice Bicycle Handicap.— Jones, Lynch, Crease, F. Castle, E. N. Grove, L. R. Tingey, Wilson and Benbow. Half-mile Bicycle Handicap. —F. Castle, W. Castle, Lucy, L. T. Herbert, E. N. Grove, Jeffrey, Smith, Fabian, Munden (Dunedin), Muir, Brand, Brodie, Nicoland Hunt.
One-mile Roadster Handicap.—Jones, Lynch, Crease, W. Castle, Nicol, L. R. Tingey, G. Jeffrey, Smith, Muir, Benbow, Brodie, Lucy, Hunt and Avery. Five-mile Provincial Championship.—W. Castle, Nicol, Lucy, L. T. Herbert, Jeffrey, Smith, Munden (Dunedin), Muir and Hunt.
Two-mile Bicycle Handicap.—W. Castle, Lucy, Herbert, E. N. Grove, Jeffrey, Smith, M:unden (Dunedin), Muir and Hunt.
Ladies’ Bracelet. W. Castle, Nicol, Lucy, Herbert, Grove, Jeffrey, Smith, Fabian, Munden (Dunedin), Muir, Brodie and Hunt.
