At the meeting' of the Hutt County Council on Monday Councillor Majendie moved —“ That this Council deplores the death of the late Mr Win. Jones, of Otaki, whose zealous and faithful servitude as clerk to this Council for 16 years will long remain a monument to his capacity and integrity, and that a letter he sent to his widow and family expressing on behalf of this Council its deep regret at his death and appreciation of his admirable and efficient services to this Council and the ratepayers of the Hutt County.” Councillor Speedy seconded the motion, which was agreed to. There is nothing more annoying, or likely to lead to more confusion, tiian indistinct addresses. Farmers should note that it is more business-like, and that it saves time to have their names and addresses printed on their memo forms and envelopes. They can get five hundred forms printed with envelopes to match at the Mail office for 12s Gd.
