SALE OF PLIMMERTON.

,©. — Messrs T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co.'a auction rooms, Lambton quay, were crowded on Tuesday afternoon, when "a number of sections at Plimmerton -were disposed of bv public auction. Mr J. G. Chapman wielded tho hammer, and in opening the sale referred to the well-known advantages of Plimmerton as a health and pleasure resort, its close proximity to town, and the fact that this was the last occasion the public would have of purchasing sections in that locality. The first section put up was No. 39. famous as being the site of tho residence of the great chief Te Rauparaha, who was captured on the snno spot. The upset price was onlv <£G5, but tho bidding quickly reached 'the satisfactory sum of .£l2l, at which price it was knocked down to Mr K. M. Gatenby, of Wanganui. A good start being thus effected, bidding went on briskly for tho remainder of the sale, all the sections being disposed of at highly satisfactory prices', Messrs T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co. aro to be congratulated on the result of the sale, which must be highly gratifying to tho Wellington and Manawatu itailway Company. The following are the particulars of the sections sold :
