THE DEATH OF PRINCE HENRY.

London, January 28. Mr Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been instructed to assure the Agents-General that the Queen and Princess Beatrice are deeply touched by the sympathy and loyalty shown by the colonies in the misfortune which has fallen on the Royal Family. His Excellency the Governor last week telegraphed to the Premier the following cable message which he had just received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies in answer to the message of condolence on the death of Prince Henry of Batteuberg that the Premier had requested His Excellency to send Home on behalf of the people of this Colony:—"Am desired by Her Majesty to convey thanks for kind message expressing sympathy from yourself and people of New Zealand—(Signed; Cha.mbert.ain."
