THE TRANSVAAL.
Pretoria, February 3. President Krugerhas requested the Spanish Government to arrest Mr Charles Leonard, solicitor, one of the Transvaal fugitives, who escaped on his voyage from the Cape Colony to Fngland and landed at Tenerift'e. Forty of Jameson's troopers landed at Port Elizabeth. The members of a Commission of Enquiry have left England. London, February 3. The Pall Mall Gazette states that the Boers are still closely investing the Rand, and preventing an influx of labour. German policemen, it is further stated, molest the Uitlander3, and reprisals are feared. The Germans of the Orange Free State, in an address of thanks to the Kaiser, describe him as the Prince of peace. Capetown, February 4. The German police in Johannesburg are creating friction with the British. Ten residents who have been assaulted are unable to obtain redress.
