An interim " social " in connection witlt the Eight Hours Association was held last; Thursday 'n Thomas' Hall. It was w dl" attended and passed off very pleasantly indeed, song and dance in agreeable alter*-, nation serving to make the time fly all too quickly. Songs were contributed by Miss. Bjitha Roberts, Mrs Wood mass (with violin ob'> :gato by Mr MeComish). qtndi Messrs Trc-nberth and McCaffiu, ndiile Mr* and Miss Woodmass sang a duet. MiDonaldson danced a hornpipe, and Mr Harvey a stepdance. Messrs A dan Ward: and P. Waters acted as mast"is of ee»v~ monk's for t'ie dancing and Mi- Kear-|ey (piano) furnishe I the incidental music, Mr Mawson was the caterer for the refreshments, and left nothing to be desired.
