BOWLING.

Mr Aitken (president of the Victorian Bowlers' Association) and Mr Doeg (also a Victorian bowler) were in Wellington on Saturday, and took part in the match Scotland v. the World at the Wellington Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon. Subsequently they played a pairs match with Messrs Maudsiey and Ballinger, and won it by 21 to 14. At Christchurch last week they won a pairs match by 21 to 9. Messrs Aitken and Doeg left again by the Monowai on Saturday evening. In the return match with the Thorndon Bow ling Club next Saturday the Wellington Bowling Club will be represented by a team entirely different from the one which played and won the last match. The former: players have been excluded, and a ballot has resulted in the selection of the following four rinks:—King, A. MacDougall, Buttle, J. Lockie (skip), D. McLean, Hill, G. P. Wilson, A. Campbell (skip),' J. Blundell, N. McLean, Muir, Russell (skip), Whitehouse, Reich, Lawson, Sample (skip). Sample's team is to be pitted, against McGlashan's, which now holds the Edwin Challenge Badges, so that the contest for those badges may form part of the inter-club match. If Sample's rink beats 'McGlashan's, the badges, having made the round of the three clubs, will be taken back to the Wellington Club. WELLINGTON BOWLING CLUB. The return match ■ Scotland v. the World was played on the large green on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in an even more decisive victory for the Scotsmen than the first match proved to be. There were seven rinks a side, and in six of the rinks the honours rested with the Scottish representatives, while in points they sqored 163 against 103 scored by their opponents. Archibald, W. Nathan, Elliott, Barry (skip), 9. Rink No. 3.—Parsons, Quick, Exley (skip), 12, v. Wiggins. Turnbull, Burn's (skip), 7. Rink No. I.—Nairn, Leslie, Murdoch, Ross (skip), 23, v. D. Nathan, Cattell, Marehbanks, Flanagan (skip), 9. On Rink No. 1 a capital game was played for possession of the Edwin Challenge Badges, McGlashan's team succeeding in wresting them from the present holders. The team from the Wellington BowlingClub will therefore have to fight it out with MoGrlashan next Saturday and a keen contest is anticipated. The following were the teams, and the score: —Wright, Rose, Falconer, McGlashan (skip), 23, v. Koch, Ileywood, Jameson, Salmon (skip), 11. The pairs competition was advanced another stage. Messrs S. Lambert and Archibald, after a keen struggle, succeeded in defeating Captain Falconer and Nairn by 21 to 19. The final for this contest will be played next Saturday, Messrs S. Lambert and Archibald having to play oil* with Messrs Ross and Mclntyre. The Senior Bowls and Junior Bowls contests are also drawing to a close. The following drawings were made on Saturday afternoon: — Senior Bowls Falconer plays Rose, McGlashan plays Ross. Junior Bowls— Exley plays Tinuey, Falconer plays Koch, Archibald a bye.
