A DANGEROUS MISTAKE.
A narrow escape from accidental poisoning occurred to a young man named S. Kennedy, who is employed in the Government Life Insurance office, a few days ago. For some time past, it appears, he has been in the habit of inducing sleep by means of sleeping draughts, and early on the morning in question he got out of bed and drank from a bottle what he believed to be the mixture he usually took on such occasions. He did not appear at his usual hour, and on his room being entered he was found in an unconscious state. Dr Grace was at once sent for, and discovered that he had taken a large dose of chloroform, which was contained in a bottle of the same size as that in which his sleeping draught was kept. With the assistance of Dr James, who was also sent for, Mr Kennedy was x-estored to consciousness, and is now very little the worse for his misadventure.
