Mr Ashcroft, coroner, held an inquest at the Hospital on Tuesday on the body of Eric Neil sen, who died suddenly on Saturday afternoon. Dr Ewart said that having been present at a post-mortem examination of the body, he was' satisfied that the cause of death was an aneurism of the aorta. Dr Tripe, who had made the post-mortem examination, gave a similar opinion. Joseph Saunders, contractor, said deceased was working for him on the sea-wall at Clyde quay. He was a very sober, hard-working man, but he did not know of his having done anything to cause rupture of the aorta. Clara Neilsen, wife of the deceased, said he was hot complaining of being ill when he left home on Saturday morning. The jury, of which Mr E. Player was foreman, returned a verdict in accordance with j>he medical testimony.
