At the Lancaster Park Trotting Meeting, the Lancaster Harness Trot was won by Kelpie, who paid £5 4s. Ipswich won the Linwood Harness Trot, paying £1 Bs. A Sydney cablegram: —It is stated on the authority of the owner that the racehorse Paris will shortly be shipped to England, also that Lord William Beresford is taking a share in the Caulfield Cup winner, and will make all the arrangements'for training and running the horse on the English turf. Mr Martin, S.M., gave judgment on Jan. 31st in the case of Hawkins v. Woods, and Woods v. Hawkins, concerning the trotting horse Invictus and the mare Pearl. His Worship said he discredited the evidence of both parties as to the items in connection with Invictus, and he should nonsuit botßTparties with regard to their claims in that respect. He would, however, give Woods judgment for JHO for money advanced for the purchase of Pearl. Each party would pay his own costs. Mr Skerrett appeared for Wood 3, and Mr Edwards for Hawkins. The Wanganui Jockey Club have completed negotiations with Mr Crawford, of the Imperial Hotel, for four of his starting machines to be erected on the Wanganui -Racecourse.
