SALE OF TROTTING HORSES.

At the sale of trotting horses brought from Sydney to Auckland, and sold at the latter placo on December 31st, the following prices were realised : ON ACCOUNT OF MR S. HORDERN. The first lots offered were Mr S. Hordsrn's fifteen geldings and fillies. At first iihey were brought out harnessed in buggies, but partly because of the delay and partly because one got frightened and upset the sulky, finally kicking himself clear of it, the others were led out. Mr Power, Mr Hordern's manager, offered to givo a trial of any of them in harness. The fifteen three-year-olds realised 238 gtiineas, an average of sixteen guineas all but a fraction. The four two-year-old stallions realised 137 guineas, an average of 344- guineas. The following are the results of the sale : FILLIES AND GELDINGS. Gs.
