Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade in front of the stand. Any horse absent from such parade, without the permission of the Stewards, will be fined 2 sova. Persons desirous of being- registered as gentlemen riders are referred to Rules 181 and 182 " Rules of Racing." All horses must be ridden in colours. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 sovs. _ Any owner failing to declare his colours at time of entry will be fined 2 sovs, unless the colours of the owner of the horse are duly registered. When two or more horses start the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be declared on entry day and worn. Acceptances close New Zealander Hotel Friday, 18th January, '95, at 10 p.m. Nominations must be m»de upon the Club's Entry Forms, which may be procured from the secretary. Nominations and acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary fees. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. All ponies (except those holding certificates) to be measured before starting. 2. Previous performances of horses to begiven at time of nomination, also colours of the riders. 3. All races to be run under the Rules of the Wellington Trotting Association. 4. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. 5. All horses must be ridden and driven out. If distanced by first horse, second and third money will be paid to the winner. 6. All protests to be accompanied by a fee of 2 sovs, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. 7. All disputes and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present, whose decision shall be final, and shall not be questioned in any court of law. Entries only received on this condition. 8. Nominations must state the bona fide owner of horses. 9. No jockey will be permitted to ride or drive unless in full jockey's colours and breeches. This rule will be strictly enforced . 10. Any jockey not weighing out within ten minutes after ringing of bell, or not returning saddle cloths immediately at the conclusion of an event, will be fined £1 Is, which will be strictly enforced.
