Mr D. Buddo, M.H.R., having called the attention of the Premier to the omission of black birch from the samples of timber which are to be exported to London tor pavino- purposes, Mr Seddon has communicated 0 with the Postmaster-General, who has charge of the matter, to have black birch included, as the Premier considers black birch as good as, if not better, than red birch.
The following tenders have been accepted by the Manchester Road Board:—Metalline 202 chains of Waituna road, W. Horn, £l° 10s per chain; metalling 47 chains Paske's road, A. Managh, 19s 4dper chain ; trimming and metalling 145 chains Jtf oCraefo road, J. Horn, $1 6s 4d,
