_— + INCREASE OF 850,460 SHEEP. . The annual sheep returnshave just been completed by the Stock Department, aud they show an increase of 850,460 "sheep within the year ended the 30th April last. The following, are the particulars for the six stock districts of the Colony:Auckland, 858,295 sheep; increase, 1325. Number of owners, 2296; increase, 118. Sheep rate, <£Bsß ; increase, ,£l. Those which show the largest increases are : _Oroua (Wellington), 99,698; Waitaki, 85,412; Geraldine, 76,212;. Cook, 64,856; North Wairarapa, 53,563; Ashburton, 53,115. The heaviest decreases aro :—Vincent, 2?,525; Che/iot, 15,230; Whakatane (Auckland), 11,023; Clutha, I 8838 j Taranaki, 8791; Taieri, 8277.
