In the Legislative Assembly the Absentee Land Tax Bill, imposing an additional 20 per cent, on property owned by persons absent from the colony for a period of? two years, has been read the second time. The Legislative Assembly has passed the Standard Time Bill.
The Legislative Council, by-38 to 5, carried amotion to postpone the discussion on the Land and Incqme Tax Bill for a fortnight. . : . .
