WELLINGTON MARKETS. Messrs Labkt & Co. report current whole sale values as under : Farm and Dairy Produce.

Townsend and Paul's report of the horse market: —At our yards on Saturday there was a large attendance, but the percentage of buyers was very small and not much life in them, the anticipation of Christmas festivities evidently causing them to ignore horseflesh. We sold of the Sydney consignment seven of the unbroken colts and fillies at from .£ll 15s to <£l3 15s, the remainder of the unbroken being passed in, owners' reserves not being reached. We have these and the . draughts and trotting horses for private sale. "We sold an eight-year-old draught for .£ls lOs, and a number of light harness horses at •from 5s to Ji*/ ss.

We offered two well-bred Arab hacks, which were bought in at £ls and £9 los, both very good sorts.- We also offered a number of buggies and dogcarts,, which did not reach vendors' ideas of value ; the want of appreciation was no doubt caused by the close proximity of the holidays. Edwards and Mcßeath report concerning the labour market:—Although we have been very busy during the.week, business has scarcely reached our usual Christmas business.

Messrs .Lowes and Jorns report at their monthly stock sale at Eketahuna -yesterday (Dec. 19) all classes of stock were well represented, and, with the exception of one line each of sheep and cattle, upon which the vendors placed too high a reserve, everything sold at good market rates. y Eat ewes made 7s 6d; store wethers, small, 5s 6d to 6s 3d; Stores in the wool, 9s Id.
