niLkuu in n uuuii. num. London, December 11. In. a glove fight between " Dummy" Winters, an Australian pugilist, and G-eorge Smith, the latter had bis jaw fractured, the injuries he received being so severe that he died soon afterwards.. "Winters has been arrested.
Six English excursionists were arrested at Boulogne for ridiculing a religious procession. The festival was that of the Assumption of the Virgin. As the procession passed, one man, for a joke, went round with his hat demanding money. His companions interfered when he was taken in charge, with the result that they were all' arrested and kept in prison for two days. - They were released on the intercession of their friends. A‘sailor, reaching the platform at Bristol as the express was leaving, jumpedastride the buffers of the last carriage, and rode for 20 miles before the train, was' stopped.
