Since the publication of the handicaps for the Wellington Cup, "the local bookmakers who have books open on the race have transacted a fair amount of business, principally in small lots. So far there have not been any stable commissions, but as there is a fair amount of money offering there is little doubt a move , will be made by the stable commissioners shortly.' It is difficult to get anything like a fixed price list, as each of ’the local bookmakers have their own fancy horse, which th<?y make favourite, but from what can be gathered, the follpwing prices are pretty near the mark. A piece of Plate of the value of lOOsovs, with 400sovs added, second horse to receive 40sov8 and the tnird horse 20sovs from the stakes. Nomination, 2sovs; acceptance, 3sovs; final payment, ssov?. After the declaration of the weights for this race, the winner of any handicap flat race of the v value of lOOsovs may be re-handicapped, and made to carry such aditional weight as the Handicapper may impose. One mile and a,half.
