Some time since a number of pennies were received at the New York Treasury Department for redemption. One coin was rejected by the Treasury, but was redeemed by a clerk, who gave it to Congressman Johnson, who sent it to the Smithsonian .Institute. It was there found to be worth many times its weight in gold, being minted in the year 284 A.D., and circulated in the time of Emperor Diocletian. One of the treasure chests of the Spanish Armada has reached the British Museum. It is of wrought iron, and has been in use at the Glasgow Customs House for generations.
