An ostrich in the Zoological Gardens got hold of a gentleman’s chronometer watch some time ago and swallowed it. The striking of the quarter and half hours, which continued for three hours, appeared to excite the bird’s curiosity and created a great deal of amusement among the spectators. Seventy packages, purporting to be furniture, wero landed at Havre recently from Southampton. Upon examining them the polico found they contained a perfect arsenal of Anarchist weapons, including bombs, arms and ammunition, skeleton keys and burglars’ tools.
