Maiden Hack Race on SATURDAY, December 15th, at 9 p.m. Mails close at Featherston for Martinborough on arrival of morning train from Wellington. Telephone Office closes at Martinborough at 5 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races will be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Wellington Metropolitan Club. No qualification fee. Tlie saddling bell will ring at 11.30 a.ra. The first race will start at 12 noon sharp. Each race will start punctually at the time appearing in the correct card of the races. No scratching of horses allowed except through the Secretary, and not later than 30 minutes before the time of starting. All nominations and entries to be made in writing, sealed and addressed to the Secretary ; entrance money to be enclosed, with sex, name, age, pedigree and previous performances of horses, name of the owner and colours of the rider. - The attention of owners is particularly directed to the following: No nomination or acceptance will be accepted without the amount of requisite fees. No nomination or acceptance will be accepted aftei time named under any pretence whatever. No entry will be l-eceived for any of the races except upon the conditions that all claims, di s P u tes and objections arising out of the races shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. In case of a protest, the same must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within 15 minutes after the race is run, with a deposit of two guineas, such deposit to be forfeited if the protest is not sustained. " Hack ” shall mean a horse that has never started for, or has not been nominated for at least six months previous to this meeting for any i*ace, Hack or Hunter excepted. J.
