ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE NEW PORTFOLIO.

Though not definitely decided it may now be almost taken for granted that the Premier will assume the portfolio of Railways for the first quarter of the year, as Mr Cad man’s health will not permit him to do so at present. By the end of March the new administration will be in full going order, all the arrangements consequent upon the transference from Commissioners to Government will have been completed, and it is hoped that Mr Cadman will have sufficiently recovered in health to take over the department from his chief.
