THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL.

CHRISTMAS NUMBER. The special Christmas number of that excellent journal the New Zealand Mail is to be issued next week. It will be a most attractive publication, aptly described as “ the biggest and best budget of reading ever published in the colonies for sixpence.” The literary portion will include stories, sketches and* poems based upon colonial subjects, and written by colonial authors. A list of the principal amongst these contributions appears in our advertisement columns. There will be much other entertaining reading, and the issue is also to contain a large, number of well-engraved illustrations. The Christmas number of the Mail will be printed on paper of exception-' ally fine quality, and will be enclosed in a handsome cover*, the design for which has been specially drawn by Mr J. M. Nairn, ex-president of the Wellington Art Club. Agents are requested to send in their orders at once.
