THE ROTORUA RAILWAY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, November 30. Extensive preparations are being made at Rotorua for the opening of the Rotorua f railway line by the Premier. At a public meeting at Ohinemutuan influential committee was formed to arrange for a public demonstration on the occasion. A large gathering of Natives from the Arawa, Ngaiterangi and other tribes is expected to be present. It is stated that some 1500 Maoris will assemble from all parts of the district. The Native demonstrations will form a considerable feature of the affair. The Maoris will dance a powhiri or welcome on arrival of the train at the Rotorua terminus. This will be followed by a big feast in Maori style, after which several hundred Natives will probably take part in liakas and other Maori dances. In the evening a banquet will be given to the Premier and other visitors. ' The Premier, as Native Minister, will be asked to remain at Rotorua for a day in order to give the Natives an opportunity of bringing some important Native questions before him.
