Waiter fell, and his jockey, Corrigan, the well-known cross country rider, was so severely injured that no hopes are held out for his recovery.

Melbourne, August 13. Corrigan, who was seriously injured through Waiter falling in the Caulfield Steeplechase, died to-day.

Sydney, August 9. Buccleugh has been scratched for the Metropolitan Stakes.

Sydney, August 10. Little Bernie and Chatham have been scratched for the Metropolitan Stakes.
